Treating children and their tummies with a holistic approach. Getting pediatricians back to healing.

Background

I am a Stanford trained pediatric gastroenterologist and integrative pediatrician with over 12 years of experience for taking care of children and optimizing digestive health and wellness. My approach is taking care of the whole child, including mind, body and spirit. My mission is to teach pediatric providers how to provide integrative, holistic care while balancing the health care provider’s own wellbeing.

I believe deeply in food as medicine and the power of plants and nature. The human body has an incredible innate power to heal. My training in systems such as medical acupuncture and Ayurveda also connect me with the wisdom from traditional healing systems.

I grew up in a Chinese American family where healing soups and Chinese herbs blended with my parents’ science and technology careers. Though at times an awkward clash of cultures, it was the perfect start to launch my curiosity in both the wisdom of ancient healing systems and conventional medicine.

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”. ~Hippocrates.

Digestive Health
Digestive health and wellness begins with excellent nutrition. Food is an intrinsic part of our gut health. The science of gut health is a fascinating and growing field!

What is integrative medicine?

Integrative Medicine is good medicine. It is evidence-based medicine that takes into account the whole patient and family and encompasses all modalities of health and healing.
